A little down time

I'm at the Pilot truck stop in Dunnigan California. There's a Wendy's here and I was just sitting in the truck thinking that I was craving a Cheese Burger. Well I am actually craving one, but when I got in here nothing really looked good. But I ended up with a Baja Salad. And it was actually the second one today. These salads are so damned good though.

After eating my salad I came to the realization that I just wanted to get out of the truck.

I spent last night at the Crater Lake Travel Center. A nice little truck stop with an Indian Casino next door. But the truck stop has a drivers lounge with really nice LazyBoy type recliners and a nice big flat screen with satellite TV. And I was relaxing in there last night, but this was just a bad day, and unfortunately I made it worse then it was.

My dispatch had me drop my trailer in the Sacramento drop yard so I could pick up this load going up to Washington. I really don't have the time to go to Washington and make it home by Friday.

Well I do, if they'd have the right load to get me home and that's just unlikely. But they're going to let me drop the load in the Medford Oregon yard. The problem is that the Sacramento drop yard is the Grocery Outlet distribution center, and when you bring an empty in there, they grab it up to load it. So, no empties.

If I had been able to get an empty trailer I could have gotten to where I'm getting my load and made to where I am now. With about 300 miles to Medford. But now I have to go 50 miles back to the customer, with the round trip and up to Medford. 400 miles of course. The problem is I'm running low on the hours I can run and really don't want to get screwed out of my time with my son this weekend.

Anthony's going to have survey on both ankles on the 30th. He walks on his toes, kind of like a dancer. The tendons are tight and the doctor is going to do some cutting to loosen them up for a simple way to put it. But he'LLC be in casts on both feet for a couple months and wheelchair bound. My poor son. The good thing is that things just don't seem to effect him. All this is really eating away at me. But he seems not to care, from what I gather being in this damned truck.

It's pretty sad though. The fact that I just can't seem to find anything positive to write about anymore.
