The wheels on the truck are stuck

Let's see how to start this. It took ten and a half hours today to drive 180 miles. Being that I get paid by the mile it came out to $65 today. I only logged five and a half hours, so my question is. Would that come out to $6 an hour or $11.45 an hour. Either way. I'm ready to find another job.

This morning I had to deliveries to make. First one in San Bernardino California and the other one in Van Nuys California. They're about 60-80 miles apart and that was 7am till 1230. Then run 20 miles down to Vernon (Los Angeles) Where I waited until 3:30 to get loaded. Now I'm eight and a half hours into my day, on a run that needed to be 380 miles away in Phoenix Arizona by 7am tomorrow.

Problem is that I need six and a half to seven hours to get to Phoenix and I have to shut down by 9pm being that I can't work over 14 hours a day and I have to take a 10 hour break before I'm legally able to work. So, no way in hell I'm getting to Phoenix by 7am. So they have me drop the load in our yard so someone else can score those miles that I did all the work for.

That's not even the part that really pisses me off. I'm pissed because that load was my way home.

So this morning when I was running thru the foothills of San Bernardino I saw this kid riding his Yamaha in the hills. That use to be me. And I usually would look at that kid and think. I want to play. But nowadays I find myself thinking. Why can't my son have that.

Seriously. For those of you that read my blog. How much time do I spend where I'm not working. I may not be digging ditches anymore. But I work hard at what I do. How much more is it going to take to give me and my family some of the stuff we want.

I know that there are people out there that work a lot harder than I do for less than I have and don't get me wrong. I do feel for them. But god damn it when do I get a frigin break.
