I'm in this little truck stop/Indian casino in Chiloquin Oregon. I've been so busy this week. I sure do wish my pay check would reflect it though.
I'm on a run right now going from the Yakima Washington area to Porterville California. About 900 miles. And when I get to Porterville I basically trade the loaded trailer for an empty one. (Drop Load)
But, on the way down here I get a message to drop my trailer in the Sacramento and grab an empty trailer, go to Fairfield, pick up a load going back to Washington and deliver Monday night.
First off, our Sacramento yard is the Grocery outlet distribution center, so when an empty trailer goes there. they grab it and load it.
Second, Tumwater Washington is almost 1300 miles away from the house, and I'm suppose to be home on Friday. 1300 miles in 4 days. Easy, but what do you think the chances are that they'll have the loads to get me where I need to go
But this is how my week has been going. I got to Yakima with a run that I picked up after unloading in Seattle.
I got to Seattle with a run that came from Salem Oregon. A run that I told dispatch that I couldn't legally run. I was delivering a load about 40 miles south of Salem and didn't get done until 8:30 at night and had to pick up at 5:30 am to make it to Seattle by 11:00 am which gives me which gives me a 9 hour break without all the other stuff I still needed to do. And not including the 40 miles I still had to do to pick up this load.
Problem is that I'm required by law to take a 10 hour break. And I ended up with a 7 1/2 break and 6 hours of sleep. Call me a whiner, but I like my 8 hours of sleep. Something I haven't gotten this week.Because this is how my entire week went. To the point that I ended up going four days without a shower.
I could go on, and on, and on, and on. But I'm probably boring you.
I need another job.
