Down Time

Seems like I do more on my down time then I do when I'm at work. Right now I'm trying to get a program called APRS (Automatic Packet (or Position) Reporting System) to work for me. It's a program Ham Radio Operators use to see where each other are, but since my radios don't broadcast APRS I'm trying to get my Android phone to do it. Seems as I have done it with the help of Google Latitude. Sure wish I could afford an aircard for the computer so I could do these things while I was on the road.

I'm able to do a lot of the stuff I need to do on the Android, but working on a cell phone all the time just gets old after a while. Don't get me wrong. I love my Android phone, but it's still a phone.

I was able to upload this sideloader program this weekend too. I have an AT&T phone and they have blocked secondary programs, I've been trying to get a program working on this phone since I got it, but the developers have just finally got the bugs out for my phone and I'm finally up and running.

Funny though, the APRS program I've been wanting to upload is actually on the Android Market Place now. But going that way I would have actually had to pay for it while using the sideloader program I got it for free. Ahh, my favorite price.

Anyway, time to get back to the down time stuff. Errr.
