Have been in a good mood the last couple of days

This morning after making my deliveries I met up with Christopher for breakfast. Christopher is the son of a friend of mine I've known since the high-school daze. Chris has been in the Navy for 6 years now, so I'm sure its nice to get visitors every now and again.

Been that done that. I was in the Army and would look forward to seeing friends and family.

Yes, it's been a pretty good week. The other day I met a couple of Ham radio friends. And hung out for a little while. Almost met up again today in Denver. But I wanted to get this load to Salt Lake City so I can get something else and make a little money.

So as I'm leaving the Denver area I get a preplan. After I drop in SLC. I gotta go about 50 miles north to pick up a 2 stop run that's going 80 miles south. Sounds like a really productive weekend. And to think. My Ham friend was saving a parking spot for me back in Denver.

I'm running across Wyoming. Which has become pretty neat. I was introduced to a set of IRLP (internet radio linking project) repeaters that are open for use. I can dial any other IRLP repeater in the world and be able to carry on a conversation for almost the entire length of interstate 80. So I've been having a lot of fun with that. Matter of fact I'm currently monitoring node 7102.

So I've actually been in a pretty good mood most of the week, until I was just looking at a truck job magazine. And there I find an add for the company I work for. And I quote.

A great company is nothing without a great blueprint. Our planners map out the key to success and our drivers take care of the rest. The planners at blablabla understand our drivers' needs for home-time, miles and constant freight. And that understanding stems from how we value the people who drive our trucks.

Now has anyone ever heard me say that our planners couldn't plan dinner? Or we don't have planners we have reactors. They react to an empty trailer? But anyway. If these planners are so damned good, why the hell do I have to work 14 hours every damned day and average 9500 miles a month.  Sorry but I gotta say. When I read this one I got pissed.. But hopefully I can make tomorrow another good day.

I'm still done though. It's time for a better job.
