Wish me luck

I'm in a motel in Modesto California tonight. Brought my truck into the Modesto yard for service and repairs. The same service and repairs I tried to get done two weeks ago in Rancho Cucamonga California.

I tried to get some repairs and a service done, well they fixed my air conditioning but failed to do the service. So of course I'm like, okay. See you in another 15000 miles. But of course about 2000 miles down the road I loose oil pressure and my Air conditioning is not working again. AAAHHH.

So I make it to Modesto and loose a day only to find out that they are taking to truck to the dealer to have the engine tore down to clean out the journals.

A while ago there was a problem with oil filters. The inside of the filters came apart and contaminated the inside of the engine. This caused the journals to get clogged up, and there have been several blown up engines due to these filters. My company is suing the manufacturer, and the manufacturer is trying to sue my company for letting the trucks go to long without oil changes. But in the meantime I'm sitting in a motel not making any money.

So when I went to check in my truck, I asked the maintenance guys if there was a Staples, library or some place around there that I could use a fax machine. When this guy behind me says they have one in the office. Well I tell him that it's for a job application and I wouldn't feel right sending it the office. Turns out that the guy was the terminal manager. He actually got a hold of my boss trying to find something to keep me there.

This morning my dispatcher tells me to check out this truck that I can use while my truck is in the shop. I go check out this truck and it smells like someone had died in it. Just horrible. So I call my dispatcher to say that there was no way I would be driving that truck, then went in to talk to the terminal manager so he can come out and smell the truck.

He's like, ya we'll get you a motel and have that detailed. But I did this because I knew what was coming next. When I got back to my truck there is a message that reads "if you don't take this truck we won't pay breakdown and motel" I sent a message that read "is that your final answer?" But while we where going through this, I had another company send an application by fax. Filled it out and sent it back. About 15 minutes later this other company calls me up to offer me a job. But they still have to call previous employers and check my motor vehicle report. Said she'd call me tomorrow or Monday about getting me to Tennessee for orientation.

This company is doing a dedicated customer out of Kingman Arizona, which is about an hour from the house. So I'll be able to do 1.5 to 2 days a week at the house. Looking forward to that. So if you want. Wish me luck.
