WORN OUT

Last week I lost my truck due to a break down, No big deal. The truck belongs to Gordon Trucking, not me. The problem is that I was sent to a motel with what ever I could carry, while they got a truck ready for me. So this last week I spent without my gear. Hell I went through a snow storm in Denver without as much as a jacket.

A couple of days ago I dropped a load in Buckeye Arizona, just outside of Phoenix. I was given a load out of the home town to get me back up here to Modesto and get my truck. I went home the night before last. Did some laundry, got a nice hot bath, and a nice night in my own bed. Got up early, took another hot bath and left to get my load up here. 530 miles later I'm in Modesto looking for my truck. Guess what. Yep, your right. Not here.

Ha, I was just looking for a place to plug in the laptop when they called me. oops, missed the call. Probably wants me to go do another run somewhere. Screw um. Not going anywhere without my gear. With or without the truck. I don't care. Not leaving without my gear.

I have another company that wants me to come to work for them. It's a dedicated run out of Kingman Arizona which is an hour from the house. I'll be home weekly, paid more in a faster truck. Be able to route myself the proper route for the weather. Unlike here where they send you a route and that's the route you have to go. Just went over Loveland pass in Colorado during a storm. Luckily it wasn't bad when I got there. But I think it's time to move on. I'm not afraid to put chains on my tires, but don't see a reason to do so if I can avoid it by going around. Sure I would see it as a problem if the out of route came out to be 100s of miles. But the route I wanted to go would add 70 miles on a 900 mile run.

Anyway. going to watch some tv and see if they call again.
