Whiners

About 10 years ago I was living in El Cajon CA. working for a window manufacturer. A friend and I would constantly get these runs we couldn't possibly make it back to El Cajon.

I was being paid by the hour and when we couldn't make it home. The company paid for a motel. Okay, so we paid for the motel and they paid us back...

But the point is that I could afford to pay for the motel. And since I was being paid by the hour. I didn't care about being stuck in rush hour Los Angeles traffic. My buddy on the other hand. He was constantly pissed.

His deal was that he was paying all this money for a house down there by San Diego... expensive. And he wanted to sleep in his own bed.

Me on the other hand. I've always enjoyed getting away, (every once and a while) so the company's paying me by the hour, and if I don't make it home they buy me a motel? Okay. Comes with a clean shower, comfortable bed and cable TV.

Now I get paid cpm (cents per mile) and the company supplied me with a truck with a bed in it. So now it doesn't matter how long I sit in traffic, because I get paid by the mile and have a place to sleep.

Back then I use to listen to my buddy bitching about the asshole at the front of the line doing 45 in the fast lane. Again, back then I didn't give a shit. But now...  when I come up on that asshole doing 45 in the fast lane, I just really wanna run that asshole over. So now I get it. Now I finally get it. Especially now that I'm stuck in the Los Angeles basin almost everyday?

Yesterday I picked up a load in Kingman AZ. Going to Buena Park CA. No problem. Run in at night. Deliver in the morning. The part they failed to tell me. The first stop in Mira Loma CA.

So now I have to deliver over by Riverside first thing in the morning and then work my way across the L.A. basin during rush hour traffic.

Most of the time I practice a driving style call the Smith system. Later on that. But if you are to follow the Smith system there should never be a reason to be cut off. But, I guess some people just have to.

So after this dude cut me off on the way over here. While I was passing him. I noticed his window was rolled down. So now I need a new soda. And he needs a shower, because while I do try to be a safe driver. I also do enjoy revenge. ;)
